Since conventional cartridge jacks are typically used under high-pressure, heavy-tonnage conditions, safety must be prioritized. Below, the manufacturer of prestressed tensioning jacks shares some important considerations to keep in mind when using these tools.
1. Absolutely no disassembly of jacks under pressure is allowed. When testing or loading the jack, personnel should stand on the sides; entry into the end-face area is strictly prohibited, and protective devices must be installed in hazardous areas.
2. Everyone entering the jack operation area must ensure "No one remains at either end of the jack when the oil pump is activated." This measure prevents injuries caused by tensioning cables slipping, as well as safeguards against accidental ejection of jack components that could harm nearby personnel.
3. "Once the oil pump is started, the pump operator must not leave their post." Keep a close eye on the oil gauge readings at all times. On the return trip, if the oil gauge shows a rapid pressure increase, immediately stop the pump.
4. The jack uses passively pumped oil, which is influenced by the oil delivered by the oil pump. It’s best to use No. 10 motor oil; in summer, No. 20 oil is also acceptable. Alternatively, you can opt for high-quality, low-viscosity mineral oil. Ensure the oil remains clean, and always filter it before pouring it into the pump.
5. Before connecting the oil pipe, make sure it is thoroughly cleaned, especially the nozzle area.
6. Before using the jack, run it unloaded 3 to 5 times to release any air trapped inside the chamber.
7. During the jack's operation, loading should be smooth, and unloading should be gradual to prevent thread slippage.
8. After finishing work, ensure the piston returns to its home position. Regularly wipe it down to keep it clean.
9. If the jack malfunctions, have it repaired by someone with relevant expertise, or return it to the factory for inspection and repair.
10. When parked unused or stored indoors, the nozzle should be fitted with a dust cap to prevent dirt and rust from entering.
